Rekrit is founded by Internationals, for International talents, so we fully understand the process you are going through. We want to be part of your story, or at least make your journey a little easier.
We know that sometimes you can get a little frustrated, but don't be discouraged. Your dream job is about to knock on the door. In the meantime, here are some tips that might help you:
01
Learn basic Swedish.
Understanding the basics of Swedish will help you adapt more easily to society. With your ID-kort, you can register for free Swedish courses (SFI).
02
Meet local people.
Meeting people from your country will help you feel supported, but meeting local people will make you understand the way of life, customs and language.
03
Review your documentation.
There is a lot of paperwork to do but do not leave it for later. We have a partnership with emigreat.io who are in charge of doing immigration procedures for foreigners.
04
Join to everything!
Sweden is a country known for life balance. Go to museums, concerts, bars, excursions, etc. This will ease the stress of your life change.
05
Get to know your new city.
Walk through it, and get to know the area where you live. Identify where are the services you might need: medical center, supermarkets, shopping centers, bars, etc.
06
Familiarize yourself with public transport.
Take a good look at all your options, learn routes and schedules, and learn how to get around your new city in the most efficient way.
07
Adapt to the country's schedules.
Each country has its rhythm of life and its own hours, Sweden is a country where its stores close early in winter, so let's say that your life depends on the sun.
08
Adapt to the weather and darkness.
The sooner you adapt to the weather, the faster you will adjust to your new life abroad. A piece of advice: "It's not the cold, it's the clothes." Find a good jacket to stay warm outside.
